Preparing for a big night out.

Getting ready for a classy night

mens suits, night out, big event, party, mens accessoriesThe holiday season is in full swing. That means get-togethers with friends, family functions, galas, and more. When you have a big night out on your calendar where you know that you want to leave a lasting impression, then some preparations are in order. A little bit of planning can go a long way, so whether you are going to a wedding, a birthday party, or even a vacation, you need to always look your best. Don’t leave anything to chance and prepare yourself!

Pick an outfit

Once you know how dressy you need to be, choosing an outfit needs to be done right away, and you want to e the best-dressed guy at the party. Avoiding last minute decisions and getting cornered into unwanted choices is the name of the game, and you need to know how to play it. So dust off your fancy suit and decide if that’s what you want to wear. If it is, clean it up in time, in preparation for the day, and if it isn’t, go get one you like. If you haven’t worn it in a while, it’s a good idea to put it on and see how it fits. Everyone’s body changes with time and it might need to go to the tailor for some minor changes. If it fits your
satisfaction, then all you need is a good dry-cleaning and pressing. You should also watch your diet carefully to make sure your ensemble still fits snugly the day of the event. Put your planned outfit aside, suit to socks, suspenders to cufflinks. Leave nothing to chance.

No new haircuts before a big night out

At Beau Brummell, we’re all for experimentation. However, the timing for a fresh haircut or a new mustache style a few days before an event can have unpleasant results. And yes, even if it’s with your barber of 20 years. He is human too, and he can take a little too much of the top and leave you option-less the day before the big thing you are worried about. That’s why the best course of action is to leave some time in between the haircut and the event so that you could grow it out a little in case of disaster. This goes doubly when new hairstyles are concerned. Getting your hair cut in a way that’s new to you, with only a little time to go, is unwise, to say the least. There is no magic face wash or gel, or even a beard conditioner that will take the attention away from a bad haircut. That’s why, unless you have at least more than a month, don’t experiment and go with what you know.

Take better care of your skin

Right before an important night out that was planned weeks and months in advance, people usually feel anxiety, and anxiety leads to stress. This, in turn, can cause outbreaks on the skin and in some cases even rashes. In any case, though, a few pimples here and there are more than enough to potentially ruin the whole thing for you, so taking better care of your skin than usual is of the utmost importance. That’s why making a few adjustments to your grooming routine can prove even essential. The use of face wash once or twice per day is more than enough, especially when moisturizer is applied right after, to keep the skin nice and fresh. In addition, facial scrub and face mask treatments should be introduced if they’re not in your routine already.

Body grooming

Body hair removal. If you’re anticipating to shed off those layers with some company around after the event is over, you’ll want to make sure you trim the hedges a bit… Trimming leaves stubble, which can be super irritating, so make sure to moisturize afterward.

Shaving for gentlemen

The closer the shave is to the night out, the better the outcome. Naturally, taking your time and being careful during your shave is important, so don’t rush. Ideally, you’ll want to shave right after a shower so your pores are open. Use a shaving brush to apply your shaving cream for the ultimate shave. Straight and safety razors are proven to give much better and closer shaves, and if properly used are much more unlikely to cut or scrape you as well.

Feel and smell good

It’s time to break out the good stuff. Splurge and get the fragrance you want, the scent that feels best to you and will make you smell irresistible. There is no better way to prepare for an event than a close, clean shave and an amazing scent. However, do not overdo it with the fragrance because it can quickly turn from attractive to unpleasant. Also, be careful of it clashing with other products you use like a scented shampoo or lotion. Now, if you know you’re in for a long night out, you have only two options when applying fragrance is concerned. You can either accept the fact that it will run out at some point in time, or you can bring it with you are respray at some point. Having a car or a hotel room nearby for that reason would be ideal, but a bathroom works just as well. Apart from these options, many men overdo it with the fragrance because they think it will last longer, which isn’t the case.

The small stuff

Getting the heavy lifting done can be in vain if you miss the goal because of something small. Here are a few things that should not be forgotten, just consider them last minute hacks:

Antiperspirant, because nothing can ruin your hot night out more than excessive perspiration. Especially if you are in a fancy suit.

– Check nails and cuticles. Check them a day or two before the happening and either touch them up yourself or go to a salon and have them done. If you’ve never had a manicure, you’re in for a treat.

– Avoid having dark circles under the eyes. Get plenty of sleep the days before the event, and make sure to drink plenty of water.

– A Facial moisturizer will help your skin look clear and healthy. People with oily or dry skin should pay special attention to that. Be sure to also check out the best facial cleanser for men out on the market.

– Check your eyebrows. Get rid of sprouting new hairs around them and make sure they are kept neat.

And at the end, after all of that, all that is left is for you to enjoy your hard-earned, beautiful night
out.
