Gadgets

The thing about gadgets is that every guy loves them, making them the perfect gifts for men. Do some reconnaissance and see what he already has. Phone accessories, smart home systems, Bluetooth speakers, headphones, readers - all good options. The best part? With all the sales going around this time of year, you can purchase top-notch products like these for under $100.00. In a world of wants vs. needs, gadgets are almost always wanted, making them fun gifts that can surprise.

Clothing

Clothes make great gifts for men but tread carefully. You've gotta be sure that you know someone's style well enough to buy them a clothing gift. That is unless you know exactly what item they may want. Part of the fun of gift giving is finding out what your giftee is seeking. It's not as hard as it seems, and isn't time-consuming at all. You probably haven't stepped foot in a mall in a while, and likely do most of your shopping online. Follow some of your favorite brands, and tag your giftee in a few looks to see how they respond. If you're with your giftee walking past a store, do a bit of window shopping together and see what they like and dislike. Take a mental note if they say something like, "I desperately need a new pair of black boots", or "I've been wanting a new windbreaker". When in doubt and in a pinch, buy him a button down shirt or workout gear, these are staples in any guys wardrobe.

Look for accessories to jazz it up a bit. Hats, scarves, and gloves are essential winter accessories that any guy would be happy to have.

Intellect

Knowledge is power, folks. We all know that guy who is an academic, avid reader, or deep thinker. For this guy, look for gifts such as books, art, subscriptions, or DNA ancestry kits. This guy wants a gift that can enlighten him, so look for materials that he can use to learn something new. DNA ancestry kits make amazing gifts and give the user newfound knowledge and curiosity.

For the intellectual, another alternative is a museum membership or day trip to an area historical attraction or exhibit.

Good times

One of the easiest gifts to pick for a guy is obvious - alcohol. Look for something on a higher shelf than you usually look at. There are great options that come as pre-packed gift sets with a pair of tumblers. Scotch, tequila, vodka, or even that elusive batch of craft beer. Make sure that the guy you're buying this for is a connoisseur or at least an aspiring one. If you don't feel comfortable gifting a bottle, look at accessories like shakers, decanters, openers, and personalized or engraved products.

Is he a cigar smoker? Visit a local tobacconist for that special box of stogies, a cutter, or an ashtray.

Grooming

It's no secret that guys are more interested in grooming and personal care in recent years. So, why not take advantage? Putting together a grooming gift basket offers your giftee an opportunity to use some products he may not already have, and upgrade products he might already use. A high-end shaving cream and shaving brush is a great place to start. Shaving brushes aren't exactly mainstream, though they represent a vintage, gentlemanly experience and superior shaving cream application. If your guy is an avid shaver, think of getting him a new razor or stand. If your guy has a long beard, try a beard basket made up of beard oil, a shaping tool, clippers, a beard wash, or beard balm. Mix n' match - but be sure not to buy products with clashing scents. Be sure to check out our guide to mustache styles.
