A shaving bowl carved from solid marble, built to do one thing exceptionally well: turn shaving cream into a dense, hot lather in under a minute.

Why marble. Stone holds heat in a way plastic and stainless steel don't. Run the bowl under hot water for a minute or two and the thick walls absorb that warmth, then release it slowly into your lather. A hot shave at home, without the hot towel service.

Why the grooves. The interior is machined with precise horizontal grooves, left exposed rather than polished away. As your brush moves in circles, those ridges agitate the cream and pull air into it. Richer lather in fewer strokes, and less cream wasted getting there.

Two stones, one design. White marble has bright, cloud-grey veining. Black marble runs darker and denser. Each bowl is cut from natural stone, so the veining on yours belongs to yours alone. Same size, same weight, same price — the choice is purely how you want it to sit on your counter.

Works with any shaving cream or soap, and any brush: badger, boar, or synthetic. New to wet shaving or twenty years in, this is the piece that makes the ritual worth keeping.

Rinse thoroughly before first use.

Fill with hot water and let it stand one to two minutes so the marble takes on the heat. Pour it out, then add a quarter-sized amount of shaving cream or a puck of soap.

Wet your brush with warm water and shake off the excess. Work it in circles against the grooved interior until the lather builds, adding small amounts of warm water as you go — you're after dense, glossy, and slightly stiff.

Rinse and dry after each use. Marble is porous, so avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners. Not dishwasher safe. Avoid sudden temperature extremes.
