Grooming shortcuts

by Zack Evar |

You know what it’s like; you get up early in the morning hoping to be the first one in the bathroom, you get to the door only to find that you’re at the end of the line. Someone always seems to be ahead of you and you realize that you’re going to have a long day. You know that when it’s finally your turn, there is going to be very little hot water and almost no time to get ready. For thousands of men, this is the scenario that greets them every morning. The saying ‘so much to do and so little time to do it’ fits this situation. It doesn’t have to be this way, there are several different grooming shortcuts that you can take in order to stay on schedule!

Shave in the shower

Shaving while you’re in the shower can give you an extra few minutes; you can either attach a mirror in the shower or use a mirror that swings into the shower when you need it and stores flat against the wall when you don’t. The steam from the shower opens the pores, allowing you to clean your face better. Be sure to bring in your shaving cream and shaving brush into the shower also for the ultimate shave. man shaving

If you’re out of shaving cream, and you don’t want to use soap or dry shave, try using beard hair conditioner; it softens your stubble and gives you a cleaner shave. An added benefit is that the conditioner moisturizes your skin and gives you a healthier appearance.

When it comes to body wash, try choosing a product that offers the same scent in a cologne. Sometimes, body wash and cologne do not complement each other and you could be producing an unpleasant odor without even knowing it.

When it comes to choosing a razor, cheaper is definitely not better; all razors are not the same. You can buy a cheap razor, but you will find that it either doesn’t give you a close enough shave or you’ll have more nicks and cuts. Investing in a quality well-made razor now will cost a little more but it will save you a lot of pain later. If you want to get fancier, try using a straight razor. Check out a few tips to shaving with a straight razor. Along with our other premium grooming products.

Brush your teeth in the shower

Another thing to do in the shower is to brush your teeth; you want to get in and out as fast as possible or you’ll end up with a blast of cold water; brushing your teeth in the shower after you shave will give you an additional few minutes.

In the event that there is no hot water left for your shower, there are a couple of products that you can use;  use baby powder as a dry shampoo; sprinkle or dust your hair with baby powder and come through to remove excess powder – you’re done! The powder absorbs excess oil and when you comb it out, your hair appears clean.

Using unscented baby wipes to clean your stinky areas will give you a fresh feeling, and when you use cologne, no one will know that you didn’t shower.
